High Alpine Emigrant Lake Hike: 8:30am-12:00pm
Limited Capacity filling up

Enjoy a scenic ride on SnowKirk and Caples Crest Chair Lifts to begin your hike to high alpine Emigrant Lake. Enjoy the wildflowers and History Kirkwood Offers along the way. The Mormon Emigrant Trail passes through the Kirkwood mountain area, winding up over the saddle just south of Thimble Peak. To this day, rust marks from the iron wagon wheels can be seen on the granite rocks along the route. Some scars on the trees made from the ropes and pulleys used to haul the heavy wagons up over the rugged terrain still remain. The trail continues around Emigrant Lake where you can enjoy the view before your hike back to the Kirkwood Base area. This hike is 6 miles total round trip.
